Please Knock me Over the Head

Well, I have a Doc appointment this morning... and am hoping they will take pity on my Shamu body and induce me.

I think I am ready-the flowers are planted, my little sister came in town yesterday to watch our other offspring, and I was able to paint my toe nails one last time. I even bought some Miller Lite yesterday and put it in the fridge... I need to have this kid soon because every time I open the refrigerator door I start frothing at the mouth!

I have to admit that I am a little bit frightened. Are all women scared out of their wits at the thought of labor or is it just me? I mean, going in to the Doc and saying "please help put me into excruciating pain." is kind of like handing my son a hammer and asking him to slam it on my thumb a good 20 times. I feel a little crazy here. I like to avoid pain-and today I am going to ask, even BEG to be put into pain.

If you could please say a little prayer for me today... that all goes well and that the sonogram was correct and this is a baby girl (we have so much pink!) and that she is beautiful and healthy. Also, while you are on your knees, pray that I don't poo on the delivery table.

Thanks!

Lady! If you don't think we are praying for you, know that we are.
I don't think you are gonna care what you do while you are in labor, so don't fret over that...you probably won't do that anyway! LOL! Still,
I had to beg once...I was three weeks late in AUGUST!!!! First baby!
I didn't mind asking one bit!
Sincerely,Blessed Mary and St. Gerard,
please be with Chris and baby and help them through this time. We know you are there when we call and need you. JMJ! Amen

I'd be glad to pray for you. My Lucky is 3 months old now and I was induced with him and with Stinkerbell (6 y-o). Inducing is the way to go. My OB does the epidurals too. He's a very skilled mixmaster with the narcotics. ;-)

But I just can't bring myself to pray you won't poo on the table. It just wouldn't be fair to the rest of us.

After my bag of waters squirting all over the OB's arm and pooping on the table, I then puked all over my room and passed out twice.

Lots of fun ahead for you!

Seriously, will pray that you and your little girl are safe and healthy in the upcoming hours and days.

Cris,

You're in my prayers at this time. I'm praying that you'll have a safe and healthy delivery for you and your little one.

That's all that matters really, bodily functions don't matter a jot when you get those contractions going and you want all the agonising pain to end.

I had no idea that women sometimes pooped when they gave birth until I was told by my son's father who thought it was all truly disgusting and couldn't wait to tell me that he hadn't found the birth that 'beautiful' an experience.

I'm sure that ewen the glamourous women we are subjected to seeing in advertisements, film etc... have little accidents when giving birth...unless they starve themselves and their babies a week before their due dates!

Oh no, I forgot, a lot of them;

a) are too posh to push

or

b) adopt instead.

Praying for you!

I will pray the you don't poo on yourself and that you get lots and lots of drugs! Then you wont care if you poo on yourself. Or someone else for that matter!

You realize, of course, that pooping while birthing helps speed up the delivery? The passageway must be clear, and it's a good thing to get the baby out as quickly as possible, no? I'll pray that you are unaware that you poop during the deliver, as any skilled nurse knows how to "whisk it away" before the mom even knows.

Now, on with my usual prayer and blessing to expectant moms~

"With One Push!"

Know that we will be praying for you as you offer your body as a living sacrifice for the life of your baby. Such a noble and loving act! Many blessings to you. Allow yourself to feel the prayers as you labor, because we'll be praying.

Every time I check in to the hospital, I turn to my husband and say, "We're not leaving here without a baby." Labor is scary...having another child to raise is terrifying!

As someone in your EXACT SAME POSITION, I'm praying for you! Hard! And hoping you get to pop a Miller Lite soon!

I have Guiness waiting for me...they say it helps your milk come in faster...but really, I just want some beer!

Good luck!!!

Thanks for everyone who has been praying for me... maybe we should leave the word "poo" out of prayer as I am still pregnant, and still constipated. God does have a sarcastic funny bone doesn't He?

After reading all these comments, I have come to the realization that OB nurses must be saints. And OB doctors must be gluttons for punishment.

Or maybe the other way around.

Anyway, praying for a safe delivery soon!
