I have been making mental checklists of things I want to get accomplished before he arrives:
- Organize finances (oh crap)
- Organize garage (blech)
- Organize closet (rumor has it there is a floor to my closet)
- Organize the rental house spreadsheet (Carl loves spreadsheets... they turn him on.)
- Get rid of all People magazines and US magazines... stock the house with intelligent reads like Money and Gold Digest. (It is the little things that make him happy)
- Hide all granny panties. (I don't want to frighten the poor guy)
- Buy unmentionables that I won't mention here on this blog.
- Take down all Christmas decorations (he said he would help, but I know he was just saying that to "act" supportive He would much rather spend his time at home doing... other things.)
- Lose 10lbs (in 7 days? Not a problem.)
- Color my roots (What? You thought I was naturally this color? Maybe when I was 7).
- Shave (I'll need a few razors for this considering he has been gone for 5 months-and it is winter)
- Give the dog a bath (not because Carl would care, but because the dog stinks).
- Buy beer (and pretend they are the same ones that were in the fridge when he left.)
- Delete all emails from blogging readers with the subject heading "hot man" (just because).
I bet Carl's mental list looks like this:
- Get home.

If he would make a to-do list for you for when he comes home it would be something like this:
1. Make me not want to leave again.
The Mighty Hunter leaves again tomorrow morning EARLY for 2 weeks. I try to accomplish a similar set of goals before he returns each time. And I know his list is just like Carl's.
This post made me smile.
I KNOW you will enjoy his R&R. I'm glad you're all getting it.
I'm not sure what I thought you were saying, but I misread the lines about shaving and washing the stinky dog the first time I read this. *shudder*
FYI-if the combination of shaving and dog bathing is too much for the shower drain, plungers are good for more than toilets. Ask me how I know.
Have fun.
That was sweet. I hope your week goes quickly and all is accomplished by the time your husband walks in the door.
Oh, there's a number two...... brown chicken, brown cow.
2. Attack wife.
3. Drink beer.
4. Attack wife again.
I am soo happy that you will be seeing your true love soon. There are so many of us who feel priveleged (SP?) to have families like yours who sacrifice to serve our country.
I'll be praying for a safe journey for Carl.
Cris...I'm just one of the 12 people that keep coming back :)
How exciting that Carl will be home so soon...
My family I soooo appreciate what his and your sacrifices mean for us and our whole country. We don't pass anyone in uniform without stopping them to thank them for what they are doing for US. Even last night, at dinner..the guy was being deployed on the 18th to Iraq, we bought their dinner, just a small way to say thanks.
Also, and I don't mean this to sound creepy at all but it probably will...My hubby is a chiropractor and one thing he does in his office is to take care of those who have/are deployed (on him). They did a story about it a few weeks back on CBS (I think)...and I just wanted to pass this along to Carl while he is home. Please, no pressure and please don't think I'm a nasty stalker, I just wanted to extend this to Carl and whoever is coming home with him! If you would like any info, just email me
kirowyf@huntel.net.
Enjoy every minute he his here and if you want help organizing the garage before he gets home, let me know! You guys should be enjoying each other and not having to do house chore things!!!
:)

Awesome news June! If you've got a 5-month shave go straight razor!
Oh! and I'm sure Carl's list has an extra item or two -- not that it's anymore complex.
Well... he did say something about getting the oil changed in his truck while home.
I'm excited for you and the children.
Here's hoping he gives you a big spank, err, hug. Yeah, that's what I meant . . . a hug.
Cris,
So happy to hear that Carl is coming home. Does that mean there will be a pause in your blogging?
I THINK THERE SHOULD BE!
Just relax and enjoy your time together!
We will be waiting to hear all about it...
Love,
Aunt Barbara
I kind of want to be you when I grow up... your blog is dangerously hilarious, particularly during working hours. I'm so happy your hubby is headed home soon!
Jenny... how the hell old do you think I am? When you grow up you want to be like me? You better be 15 sister... that is all I am sayin'
By the way, I checked out your blog-if you weren't so cute I would be offended.
Are you single? Catholic? Hmmm, I will have to put my radar out for you.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE forgive me for the delinquency of this comment. I am so very behind. Haven't read blogs since before the holidays.
Christmas+flu+insane start to second semester=NO BLOG TIME
But. I am SO EXCITED that you got time with your man. SO EXCITED. And again - SO GRATEFUL for the sacrifice YOU make for MY freedom. Every. Day.
