How Is The Florist Going To Get To My House????

It is snowing in Omaha today. Not your typical flurries... no, it is dumping snow from the heavens upon the land that I call home.

groan.

All of this snow meant that school was cancelled.

groan.

So I did what any wonderful mother would do and I plowed my van through the snow directly to Blockbuster and proceeded to rent $25 worth of movies for the kids to enjoy. Then I traipsed over to Super Target where I bought pizza pockets, smiley face french fries, chips, dip, soda, frozen pizza, ice cream, waffles and chocolate syrup. Oh, and milk-I am responsible.

groan.

So far we have watched Madagascar 2 and Open Season 2. If you have the choice, rent Madagascar 2... we laughed our little butts off. Open Season 2 was stupid... don't rent it. Oh, and we all have upset stomachs. I don't know why.

groan.

Now if you will excuse me, I have to go curse loudly whilst I shovel my three-car-wide driveway.

groan.

I forgot to buy beer.

groan.

Happy Valentine's Day.

groan.

Strap on the chains, lock down the hubs, hook the children up to the sled and mush to get beer. Now, before the drifts get deeper and dark night settles down!

I am running a little contest for love stories on my blog, and I bet you have a love story to tell. June, you share glimpses of the love story that is your marriage often, but I bet you could write something funny and sentimental.

I'm seconding what Jud said above, and also thinking that chocolate should be added to the list with beer. Or maybe you should wait on chocolate until Sunday. The only thing better than chocolate is half-price chocolate the day after Valentine's day!!

Now the real June would have made homebaked cookies for all the little Cleavers.
I have fond memories of snow days and the kids off from school.
On one in particular I can remember baking cookies while we watched Ann of Green Gables on the TV. It is my fondest memory! Wish I could have that day back, just one more time.
Happy shoveling! Hope you don't get too much!
Love,
Aunt Barbara

Hubby is gonna loved that toned up body from all the shoveling...just keep thinking of each shovel full as helping keep our soldiers happy!

I am still recovering(mentally) from our ice storm that had me and my little darlins trapped in our home for 6 count them 6 days....
I hate ice the snow/ice was in drifts 3-4 feet high around my house, and the children were able to put on their snow boots, and ice skate and sled across the yard, but were in Oklahoma and I think thats ridiculous way out here on the prairie. I prayed everyday lord make it go away, and help me get through today without pulling anyones hair, did I mention I have 7 children at home.
have fun and stay warm

Happy premature Valentine's Day. And you KNOW you love it.

The beer should have been your first stop knowing you would be housebound with kids!

Thanks for the tip on Madagascar/OPen Season 2..now I know which one the Valentine Fairy will pick up this weekend.

Aunt Norma says 12 inches of snow!
It's your own fault, you moved to Omaha!
