Is It Cold In Here? What? I Can't Hear You...

My parents are speeding their way towards my house as I type. In preparation for their much anticipated visit, I have set the thermostat at 94 and made sure the volume on the television goes up to at least 120.

It'll be just like home for them...

awwww parents coming for a visit...nothing like a little togetherness to make you wish yet again for farawayness. You go first and tell me how it turns out.

The TV thing sounds like my MIL, who we're going to see in a few days. Law and Order reruns. Loudly. All day.

Yeeee. Hawww.

Hope that all goes well for you!

Well, at least your parents/family comes to visit you. My wifes family will periodically sneak out here for a week but if I want to see my family, it's hop in the car and come visit. We've lived in Hawaii, California, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Virginia over the past 24 years and NOT ONCE has anyone from my family visited us...I must have been mean to somebody! Maybe I'll blog about this tomorrow...

I WONDERED why my stats dropped. You have no idea how many people visited my blog because I was on you side bar. Now I am not, and I can tell. Thanks. Thanks a lot. =)

A solution for the "loud TV" problem: remote headphones. Get 'em each a pair as a welcome present. They put those on, adjust the volume of the headphones, and you are left in blissful silence. I got a pair of those for my DH, who works 3-11:30 PM, comes home and often likes to have TV on...while I'm trying to sleep. Works like a charm.

About the thermostat...that's trickier. Maybe put them up in a tent outside? It ought to be about 94 degrees by now, right?

(heh heh)

My FIL has come just one time to visit us in our 3 years here in the SOUTH. For him it is TOO DAMN HOT. I have to lay sweat towels everywhere he sits because our house cannot cool down enough for him.

You should just tell your parents to come with their sweaters and turtlenecks.

Have fun with your visist. I can so relate to the blaring volume on the TV. My father has it so loud you can literally hear it from outside the house, with the door closed.

My parents are always looking for a reason to leave when they get here. My father can sit in a chair and not speak for hours other than to say, "momma we better get back towards the house" I guess they close the Alabama borders at dusk.
